Furthermore, a user can switch from using an older version of FTM to the latest version by exporting the data using a Gedcom file. A user can use a Gedcom file to move your family tree from one program to another. Users can upload their tree to FTM or Ancestry through Gedcom.
A Gedcom file can be created by following the steps given below:
- Open the Family Tree Maker software you are using.
- Click on the File option in the ToolBar in the Top-left corner.
- Select the Export option from the dropdown menu.
- Select the File type as Gedcom.
- Select the location you want to save your file.
- Name the file according to your convenience.
What’s new in Family Book Creator 2019?
The graphical user interface has been revamped and has been made more modern. Most tab controls have icons to help the users recall where different settings are located. Furthermore, all rules have not been rearranged. Users familiar with earlier versions should find the settings they are used to.
The built-in text editor has been updated, allowing you to adjust text components in the Title Page, Colophon, Dedication, Foreword, and Introduction sections. Now images can be inserted, and the content of these pages is shown using a zoomable layout view.
The new version allows users to have complete control of settings for paragraphs and use full-screen mode with the spell checker.
It also allows users to include word processing media elements in book documents and content from media files in word processor file formats like Rich Text Format, Microsoft Word Document, and Open Document Text.
Finally, the software now generates a Color Coding Legend based on the colors supplied in Family Tree Maker. The user can now print in black and white mode with a choice of symbols in multicolor or unicolor and can even replace yellow with grey.
